Thankful Times

I am excited about Thanksgiving this year!  I'm thankful for my family being together, for traditions, for turkey and trimmings, and a long nap after dinner!
I’m carving (ha) out more time for creating over the holidays.  I took some inspiration from my friend Kari McKnight Holbrook who *only used supplies she had on hand for projects. (*Ok, mostly).

The Thankful banner I made using an old Frank Lloyd Wright calendar, letter stencils, metallic copper pen and a Sharpie, a hole punch and some ribbon.  I used complimentary ribbon to make little bows and added vintage buttons.

I am thankful for so many, many things.  Family, friends, adventure, gel medium…

How about you?

Dia de Los Muertos is a beautiful thing!

Coming up!  Dia De Los Muertos or Day of the Dead is a beautiful thing!  Join us at SmittenDust, the weekend of November 1& 2 with Shirley K. Bentsen and Jane Reiter.  (I can already hear the laughter!)

I love the beauty and honor of this event.  I wish we had something like Day of the Dead every year (and I’m not talking about Halloween).  Check out these events.  Come for the fiesta on Sunday, be a part of our creative community!

Please check out the tab "Day of the Dead" for more details and registration info.
